The Age of Hyperspecialization?

After the Think It. Build It  post, the article in HBR, Aug-11 came in my mind: The Age of Hyperspecialization, the authors say that modern technological advances will transform the workplace by dividing work into smaller tasks performed by ever more specialized workers. And, they summarize, this will create quality, speed, and cost advantages for employers.


It is true that labor becomes more knowledge based and communication and computer support advances. But does this mean that the division of labor accelerates?

Yes, we use an integrated project management environment and workbench enabling distributed work, but we also rely on the creativity and innovativeness of teams recognizing and and discussing patterns and create new things together.
