An example from the UK: 1951 there were only 4 million vehicles. They sadly killed 907 children under 15. That dropped to 533 in 1993, 124 in 2008 and 55 in 2010 - sad enough….
The reason is most probably a positive mix of regulation (especially, traffic calming and separation of traffic participants - streets are no longer playgrounds ..), technology and good sense?
However, a good result of good risk management.
